Inscribedu.l. in pencil: 12; on mount in ink below image in ink: Big Bow stole a woman and made his escape to Mexico, where he is attacked by a party of Mexican/ troops. Big Bow kills a Mexican officer with an arrow running entirely through his body. The soldiers/ gather around their officer, and Big Bow and the woman escape.
