Descriptionpartially transparent light- to mid-purple stone. Barrel-shaped bead of "swirt" or "swit" started in the Middle Kingdom, was worn around throat of the mummy as part of a necklace. Often inscribed with the owner's name. Because of its location, might be a protection from snakebite.
